Apps

OpenKeychain

As one of the main contributors besides Vincent Breitmoser, I maintain OpenKeychain.

OpenKeychain helps you communicate more privately and securely. It uses high-quality modern encryption to ensure that your messages can be read only by the people you send them to, others can send you messages that only you can read, and these messages can be digitally signed so the people getting them are sure who sent them. OpenKeychain is based on the well established OpenPGP standard making encryption compatible across your devices and operating systems.

Birthday Calendar

Birthday Calendar is the first implementation to really display all contact birthdays automatically in your standard Android calendar without hassle.

Birthday Calendar provides birthdays, anniversaries, and other events from your contacts as a real calendar, which is displayed in your standard Android calendar application. To my knowledge, this is the first implementation that implements birthdays as a real calendar integrated in the Android calendar. All other apps only displays their own lists but have no real integration! Features

  • Total integration of birthdays, anniversaries, and other events as a calendar
  • Color picker for this birthday calendar
  • Default reminder can be set in-app

Smaller Contributions

K-9 Mail

I did some smaller contributions to K-9 Mail such as support for client certificates and still unfinished OpenPGP support via OpenKeychain.

F-Droid

I am working on unattended installations/updates for F-Droid via root access and privileged permissions.

F-Droid is an installable catalogue of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) applications for the Android platform. The client makes it easy to browse, install, and keep track of updates on your device.

** A nice alternative that does not require root access is DNS66 **

FasterGPS

With FasterGPS you can select a NTP Server matching your region to speed up the process of getting a GPS fix.

** IMHO there is no need for this app on newer versions of Android **

NTPSync

NTPSync is a simple NTP time synchronization app for Android.

Standalone Calendar

Some people do not have the open source calendar from AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and are forced to use either the proprietary Google Calendar from Google Play or the shipped crippled calendar from e.g. Samsung. This standalone calendar was build from the Android 4.3 source tree.

** The successor of this app is: Etar **
